Frequently asked questions
Email your 3D files to [email protected] (or use the upload form on this site). We review the files and specifications and come back with a detailed quote, usually the same or next business day. Every job is priced on print time and material — see how we price.
STL, STEP or 3MF work best; we can also review OBJ files. If your files are too big to email, share them via a drive link. If you need help preparing or cutting a model, we are happy to help.
We print FDM in PLA, PLA+, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU and engineering materials (polycarbonate, carbon-fibre blends). As a rule of thumb: PLA for indoor and display pieces, PETG for stronger functional parts, and ASA for anything living outdoors in the Queensland sun. Tell us how the part will be used and we will recommend the right one — our materials guide walks through each. We do not offer resin (SLA) printing.
We keep black, white and a range of other colours in stock, and can order in almost any colour if needed. Ask about the colours available in your chosen material.
Most orders are ready within a couple of days, up to a week. Larger jobs and special-material orders can take around two weeks, as some filaments need to be sourced and dried before printing. We will give you a realistic timeframe with your quote.
Our printers handle parts up to 350 x 320 x 325 mm in one piece. Larger models can be printed in sections with connectors, ready to assemble, or in one piece on our large-format printer.
Both. Pickup is from our Taringa studio (Brisbane) — we confirm the address and a time when your order is ready. We can also post your order; delivery is confirmed once the parcel is packed, and we send you the tracking number.
Bank transfer, or cash when you pick up. We typically start printing once the invoice is paid.
Yes — we have modellers and drafters covering mechanical parts, organic shapes and 3D scanning of larger objects. Tell us about your project and we will recommend the best path; our design services explain how design jobs run.
FDM prints show fine layer lines — that is characteristic of the process (standard layer height is 0.2 mm). For some projects we can sand, prime and paint parts for a smoother finish; ask when you enquire.
