How replication works
- Send a few photos of the part with a ruler next to it for scale. That’s always the first step — it tells us the best way forward before you commit to anything.
- If we proceed, we’ll need the physical part in our workshop. Most parts we measure and model directly; organic shapes sometimes use the 3D scanner, followed by careful digital clean-up.
- The modelling stage typically takes about two weeks. You review the model, then we quote the printing — every job is priced on print time and material.
- We print in a material suited to the part’s real job — PETG or ABS for mechanical duty, ASA for outdoor exposure, TPU for flexible pieces, engineering materials where the original demands it.

Replacement part questions
Two quotes, in order: the modelling work first, then the print once the model is approved. Modelling is quoted by the hour and printing on print time and material — the rates are on our prices page. Once a part is modelled, reprints only ever cost the print.
Photos first, then the physical part in our workshop. The modelling stage typically takes about two weeks; printing after approval is usually days, longer for engineering materials that need drying and conditioning. We’ll give you a realistic timeline before you commit.
Some. Parts that need to be transparent, metal, or made by a process we don’t run are the usual reasons, and we’ll say so as soon as we see the photos. Parts under high heat or load can often be printed in polycarbonate or carbon-fibre blends, but we’ll be honest about where FDM stops.
